Now that the Sean Wotherspoon x Hot Wheels x Adidas Originals Superturf Adventure has been revealed, we can take a closer look at the recently added three-way collaborative sneaker on HBX. The most recent design, which uses partly recycled production waste, is claimed to merge hiking aesthetics and ’90s culture.
The sneakers use a seven-color palette, continuing Wotherspoon’s love of deep colors and adding the fun of the miniature automobiles. Adidas’ iconic Three Stripes are made up of fabric in shades of baby blue, purple, and pink that are layered over a white mesh base. Yellow synthetic panels cover the eyelet placket and midsole.
The iconic “Hot Wheels” logo, an earth design, the American designer’s branding, and the tagline “It’s Not the Same Without the Flame.” on the sneaker tongue with its zipper are all removable velcro graphic patches that attract the eye and bring back memories.
The eyelets and heel tabs are colored vibrant red, while the collar and midsole edge are accented with blue. Lightweight and sculpted AdiPrene cushioning completes the sneaker parts.
